Hurricane Irene... here we come!
The hurricane is coming tonight! Ariana and Sascha have never before experienced a hurricane so this should be an interesting event. We will update with pictures once the storm is upon us! Wish us luck.
Ariana 3 Week Update!
The past week has been a bit difficult. Ari came down with a urinary tract infection so she is on antibiotics! Mark was able to detect a strange smell to her urine which brought us to the doctor just in time and it was diagnosed quickly. We go in for some further testing to rule out ureter reflux and/or a problem with her ureter that leads from the bladder to the kidney. The doctor does not think this is the problem at all since we had ultrasounds prior to her birth and nothing abnormal was detected with her kidneys or ureters then. It hopefully is just a case of getting unlucky with a uti so early on in life and ecoli getting into her urethra. Poor little girl! She's remained in good sprits though, never spiked a fever, and is still our happy go lucky little Ariana. Keep her in your prayers for Wednesday (this is when her renal ultrasound is scheduled for). Below, some new pics!

Ariana 2 Week Update!
Ariana is doing very well going into her 2nd week of life! She is gaining weight, eating well, and is alert. She is starting to stay up for about 20 minutes after she eats and is looking around, playing with her hands, grabbing at mommy's necklace, and tracking mommy and daddy's voices. She loves looking outside, and enjoys our walks at night in the stroller. She also loves driving in the car- it puts her right to sleep! On average, she sleeps 2-3 1/2 hours at a time at night, and does a few really long naps (3 1/2 hours) during the day. So, mom is a bit sleep deprived, but at least getting a good nap in each day. Here are pictures below that we have taken! She is such a joy, is a very good baby, and we are one happy little family!

Induction Tomorrow!
Well, we will have a baby tomorrow! Because I am not dilated at all still, the doctor wants to induce me tomorrow since I am now 40 weeks plus 3 days overdue. My doctor will be doing the induction, which is fantastic, as there are over 20 doctors in the practice and now I am guaranteed to get mine! The induction is scheduled to begin at 7 a.m., which means within 24 hours from that time, we will be holding our little girl in our arms. We feel so blessed and lucky to have come this far and pray that all goes well and that we are all healthy. We can't wait to introduce our baby girl to the people we love so soon. We will post pictures as soon as we can. Thank you for all of the support from our family and friends. Parenthood, here we come! :)
Update!
Today we head to the doctor at 10:15 for an appointment to discuss our induction for tomorrow. However, if she feels that I am ready to go to the hospital, she will send us straight from the appointment. I don't think that will happen though, as my doctor is on tomorrow and unless there is a need for me to be induced today, she would rather do it tomorrow herself. One more night of just the two of us! We are so excited! I think we might go out to dinner tonight- many of our friends have suggested doing that as we won't be able to go out for a long time! Update later...
